We just sent $1 Billion to Georgia after Russia attacked them and we have a crisis here in the USA. Would you pay somebody's mortgage if you were having financial troubles at your house? |||It's my personal belief that the USA should absolutely NOT be sending money to countries who oppose it. In other words, why feed your enemy? All aid to foreign countries that are against us (no matter how slight) needs to be stopped. And Yes! That money could be used right here for exactly the help you have specified.|||It makes me curious as to why you seem to think that these other countries actually want your help.
Think about it; America, because of the recession, enters into a state of abject poverty comparable to welfare in third world countries.
Russia comes along and offers Aid.
What would the American Establishment do, i wonder?|||Look at this way. If your neighbor's house was on fire, would you give them a glass of water or loan them the water hose? That is what our aid amounts to. It does not put out the fire but allows the governments a measure of control. Containment is all we want. We don't want their particular fire spreading to our place.|||mate how do you think us aussies feel when we are in a similar boat thanks to you guys and yet we are still sending money overseas. so stop ya winging|||It saddens me that in a country as rich as ours that we have hungry and homeless people. People dying due to lack of medical care when we could be doing so much more for our own people.
